“We highly recommend A&R Unlimited to any musician. They have been extremely helpful to us with advice regarding the music business and we have met some great contacts through them as well. A&R Unlimited is NOT one of those fly by night companies trying to steal innocent bands money with promises they don’t keep. "We feel very happy & confident about A&R Unlimited because with us being fairly new clients, they have been VERY easy to contact and EXTREMELY vocal & helpful in their advice. They have helped me in picking out key marketable music & photographs used for the CD compilation & my member web page; and have been very aggressive with moving things along as to provide all the services necessary to aid us in our goals of becoming “visible” to the various music industry executives! Much thanks to EVERYONE, especially Mr. Paul Michael, for believing in me, my music, and for all his support for Tony & me!" -Jerri Little, Musician

"We were doing all the right things, playing 150+ gigs a year, building our fan base and selling CDs but in the back of our minds we knew there would come a time when we would need help to take Brett's music to the next level.  Enter A&R Unlimited. We received a call from Scott Kuchler. Immediately we tested him to see if he had indeed listened to Brett's music (he passed). Then a wonderful discussion about what A&R Unlimited could do for us ensued. After the call, we jumped o n the internet to check if all he said about A&R Unlimited's industry connections was true. To our pleasant surprise, it was. We joined and Brett was offered the July 2009 featured artist of the month spot – our website hits jumped 30%. Brett's song ‘Born Too Late' is included in A&R Unlimited's Compilation CD to be released soon. These were all great opportunities but the best part was being connected directly with record labels like Virgin, Breaking Records and 00:02:59, ones that we alone would never have been able to reach, who took the time to earnestly give us invaluable feedback, critiques and tips to help us along. A&R Unlimited has been the best bang for our buck we've had so far." -Brett Mitchell, his band, the giant GHOST, and Jan Hecht, Exclusive Entertainment, Management

"As a new member, I became quickly confident that I had made a good decision to join A&R Unlimited because of the excellent person-to-person care I received during the enrollment and set-up phase. My first enrollment contact, was full of good counsel in choosing a song for the compilation CD. And throughout the web page set-up phase, which Jackie steered me through, my questions were always promptly answered. On my first review of the member webpage, I saw that I needed a possibly major change to my member page. Jackie was very supportive of my request for the change, and accomplished it amazingly quickly. A&R Unlimited has a "can do" attitude and is very supportive of the artist. Now I can't wait to see what results I'll get from my membership." -Liz Lottmann

Excerpts from Industry Blogs

Hey troops

I just wanted to clear the air for everyone. I am in a commercial rock band called ANDREJACK we have a deal with an indie label with endorsements the whole nine. I have been fortunate with a decent amount of success. My band had started working with A&R Unlimited this past year and I will say its legit. We played a few of the showcases they have put on and it is done very nicley. The last one we played we landed 2 publishing offers. We were pretty pumped about that. I know that some companies prey on us hungry musicians but what convinced me was the track record of the people who run this company. I figured the cost was worth it for the contacts alone. I spoke with some Record labels I would have never been able to otherwise. My label actualy signed up LOL They use it to push thier other artists for bigger opportunies.

Hope this helps.....Its not for everyone I must admit, only the musician who are serious and want to move ahead. No offense :O)

Peace
Keith http://www.andrejack.com http://www.myspace.com/andrejack

Thank you Colin for confirming that we are a real band.

Bob to answer your question, one reason I choose to write and become a "first timer" on this board is because I keep getting calls from bands asking if A&R Unlimited is legit, as a result of THIS forum and it's really annoying, so I choose to write to say the A&R Unlimited is absolutely a legitimate company. Now people won't call me as much because it's written here.

Second A&R Unlimited has done aloth for my band, and I know many other bands that are members that are happy as well, and it aggravates me to see a bunch of reputable people that have done me right, get a bad wrap because of a forum that is all about gossip. It's obvious research has not been done which is why potential members choose to call me after reading this.

Go on their website, look at the executive contacts, the participating companies, about us page, read the entire site, which is what I did before signing up, and then look at the services they offer. Call them directly. Ask them questions. It's better to confront them and get the answers you want then me a musician.

We were a struggling independent band, but we also knew you had to promote and take chances, which is what we did. We are a pro-active band, and if a band wants to get something out of this industry they have to be willing to work for it. A&R Unlimited offers everything to allow the musician to do just that (as long as a musician is willing to work for it).

The next statement I get when someone calls me after reading this forum to ask about A&R Unlimited is "how are they different form TAXI or Sonicbids" People ask me this because they have not gotten results from TAXI or Sonicbids, and don't want to get burned - which is what some musicians have said to me. But after going on this board, and seeing who is a "sponsor on this board - TAXI," now I understand more as to why people ask me that questions. Food for thought.

On the same subject, I see people on this forum someone calls A&R Unlimited a clone of TAXI which makes no sense. I was a member of Taxi, and nothing came out of it. I don't talk bad about Taxi, I think it's good for what it is, but I also think some people will get results, others won't. With A&R Unlimited, I feel differently, again do your research and you will see how it differs. They never claim to compete with TAXI and never have said one band thing about that company as far as I know.

Everyone has had bad experiences, and not everyone will benefit from this company if they don't take it seriously. If they do, they will - there are physical items you receive aside from the actual contacts that they offer. Research. Stop calling me!!!

I've noticed by the posts on this board that it seems that everyone on this forum is "assuming" this company is a scam. There is not one person on this board that has had an experience and that's shady in itself. Why would you all take the time to assume, rather then research something that can work to help advance your career?

And...poor Jenn, she gets ripped apart, that's sad. She is in fact a member of A&R Unlimited. When you become a member, you get to see all the other members. I checked this out.

And Brian to answer your question, I never said you "needed a showcase" to get a publishing deal. I said that we played a few showcases and as a result we landed 2 publishing offers. Why would that statement piss you off so much? A&R Unlimited brought down record label A&R execs, and music publishers to one particular show, and we made progress. I would think other musicians would be happy about this.

Also, I cared about meeting labels, because my label was and is small and only had a few bands on it. They did not have much support or budget to support the acts. My label was looking for more contacts as well, which is why they went to A&R Unlimited. They wanted to land us and their other bands a bigger deal. Being that I am very pro-active myself I joined as well.

When I signed to A&R Unlimited, this forum was not up, I researched the company very well. I never even knew about this forum until I started getting so many calls. But I must say it's a sad day when musicians make accusations about something without actually having an experience with it just because there is a few associated it.

It's also a sad day that we all sit on this forum and complain rather than communicating and making things happen to change the industry. Call A&R Unlimited, I am sure they are willing to speak on their own behalf - I speak with them almost every week to ask them a new question. They have turned me around and I really do think they are changing the industry in a positive way. So let's get a forum up about "how to change the industry" so all of us can succeed rather then the negative crap out there!

Keith
